Frequently Asked Questions

After I sign up, what do I do?

You will receive an email with the link to request an instance, once the admin approves your access. Once requested, you will get a second email containing the link to access the cloud instance. The time it takes for the access email will depend on hardware availability. Please expect anywhere from a few minutes to two days.

How long can I use it?

The instances are intended for short term use, about 12 hours. The email that contains the details of your instance includes the time when the instance expires (this can change based on the demand to permit more users to access the hardware).

What can I do with the VSCode Cloud instance?

Check out the options on the top right for a few examples you could run - TT-SMI, a TT-Metal matrix multiplication operation example, and a model download from HuggingFace.

Will the work be saved before the instance expires?

You must save your progress outside the instance before the expiration, e.g. by "git push" to your project repository. After expiration, you can request a new instance to resume your work from where you saved it to. Each user can have one instance active at any given time.

How do I add and remove my projects from the cloud instance?

You can clone projects using git and work with them as you would other repositories.

My instance crashed, what happened to my changes?

In the unlikely but possible scenario this happens, the changes are lost. Instances start from a clean slate. Be sure to save/push your work outside the container periodically.

Are my changes persistent?

No, there is no storage mounted on the instances currently. The instances are ephemeral in nature.

What card is available to be used by the instance?

For now, each instance has a single Wormhole n150 card.

Will I have access to deploy or test TT-Metal?

Yes, TT-Metal is already available to use in the home folder.

What hardware is TT-Cloud running on?

At present, TT-Cloud instances run on Wormhole n150 accelerators. We are looking to upgrade them to the Blackhole version as we get the hardware.

Where is it hosted?

At present, TT-Cloud instances are hosted in Austin, Texas. Part of our expansion plan is to host the cloud in Toronto, Canada and in the Middle East region.
